Faculty of Business Administration
Faculty of Business Administration(FBA) is one of the pioneer faculties for undergraduate and graduate studies at Build Bright University (BBU) offering Associate, Bachelor and Master degrees in the fields of management, finance, accounting, banking, marketing, international business, real estate and land management. The faculty provides a supportive environment in which students develop their knowledge and skills and thus, helping them to reach their academic and professional goals. It tries to balance education in business administration with personal development. It is a leading faculty actively working with public, private and NGO sector partners in Cambodia and with some of the best universities in the region. Once enrolled, one can see students coming from a wide range of backgrounds along with highly experienced local and foreign professors to provide and share most valuable knowledge and experience.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMS
Academic Programs:
Bachelor of Arts in General Management
The program provides students to understand the theories of general management and leadership. It is designed for students pursuing a career in business management in a variety of settings including for profit and non-profit organizations, industry and government. It is also designed to teach students the skills necessary to perform management and leadership roles in business and corporate in Cambodia and the world. It provides students to develop both business know-how and practical skills to advance career or build own business.
Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance
The program is designed for students to understand the concepts, principles, theories and practices in accounting and finance. It will prepare students how to record transactions and analyze financial statements, in order to have a clear picture of financial health of a company as well as will provide students to study in finance and learn about long-term financial and budget planning. Moreover, finance activities involve raising funds, and gathering cash flow into accounting department so that students can make financial projection.
Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Banking
The program is specially designed to provide students to understand the concepts, principles, theories and practices in finance and banking transactions. It also provides students knowledge and skills in handling financial products, product development and working within the banking and finance industry as well as provide opportunities to develop into highly competent managers, who are well qualified not only in banking and finance but also other professional areas required for successful business administration and management.
Bachelor of Arts in Marketing
The program is designed to provide knowledge to students in marketing of dynamic business which is concerned with the satisfaction of people’s wants and needs. It also provides students to study things from the perspective of the consumers and to implement the appropriate marketing strategies. Students will get opportunity to study various aspects of marketing such as marketing strategy, brand management and communication, developing a market, role of customer insights, and latest marketing theories and research techniques that influence marketing practices.
Bachelor of Arts in International Business
The program provides an overview of the environment, concepts, and basic differences involved in international business. Topics include forms of foreign involvement, international trade theory, governmental influences on trade and strategies, international organizations, multinational corporations, international human resource management, and international marketing and finance. Upon completion, students should be able to describe the foundation of international business.
Bachelor of Arts in Real Estate and Land Management
The program is designed to make the students understand the dynamics of the property market—including a sound knowledge of valuation and appraisal techniques. It is also focused on the processes taking place within property transactions, development projects and investment funding.
Professional Programs:
Bachelor of Business Administration
The program is designed to teach students and develop the skills necessary to perform management and leadership roles in business and corporate in Cambodia and the world. It provides the students to develop both business know-how and practical skills to advance career or build own business as well as also provides a broad knowledge of the functional aspects of a company.
Associate of Business Administration
The program is designed to teach students the practical skills necessary to perform operational roles and lower level management in business and corporate in Cambodia. It also provides the students to develop both business know-how and practical skills, and communication.
Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting
the program is designed to offer professional skills of education to qualified students who seek career in the field of accounting. It emphasizes the learning of concepts and practices of accounting along with the development of analytical skills in areas of data processing, management, mathematics and statistics. The program also provides students to understand use of clear and concise communication to convey relevant financial and non-financial information to decision makers and utilize technology (such as computers, accounting software, information databases) to facilitate and enhance accounting and finance reporting processes. It provides the appropriate managerial and business issues critical to analyzing accounting data and other information used for identifying and assessing opportunities and risk, developing organizational plans and allocating resources.
Associate of Business Administration in Accounting
The program provides students to understand the professional skills of education to qualified students who seek career in the field of accounting. It emphasizes the learning of concepts and practices of accounting along with the development of analytical and operational skills in areas of data processing, management, mathematics and statistics.
Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance
The program provides students to understand quality finance education that enables graduates to become contributing members to finance community and to provide graduates with a foundation upon which continued life-long learning can be built. Moreover, the program provides students to understand the role of financial management in business firms in Cambodia and the essentials of corporate finance as well as understand the concept and mechanics of the time value of money, apply capital budgeting techniques, apply the theory of capital structure to assess a firm’s leverage and the cost of capital and an understanding of the operation of security markets and the roles played by businesses and individual investors.
Associate of Business Administration in Finance
The program provides students to understand the role of financial management and operations in business firms in Cambodia and the essentials of corporate finance as well as understand the concept and mechanics of the time value of money, and apply capital budgeting techniques.
Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing
The program is designed to provide students the knowledge in professional marketing of dynamic business which is concerned with the satisfaction of people’s wants and needs. It also provides students to study things from the perspective of the consumers and to implement appropriate marketing strategies. Topics include various aspects of marketing such as marketing strategy, brand management and communication, developing a market, the role of customer insights, latest marketing theories and research techniques that influence marketing practices.

Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations (B.B.A in HRM and IRs)
This program is designed to help students learn human resource management and industrial relations. It aims to help students with perspective of managing and allocating human capital, or employees, and industrial relations in ways that move an organization’s goal forward. It focuses on investing in employees, ensuring their safety and managing all aspects of staffing, as well as to equip with perspective of industrial relations and collective bargaining and also students understand the employment relations, employment relationship, that is, the complex interrelations between employers and employees, labor or trade unions, employer organizations.
Associate of Business Administration in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations (A.B.A in HRM and IRs)
This program is designed to help students learn the skills of human resource management and industrial relations and effective practices. It aims to help students managing and allocating human resources, or employees, and industrial relations in ways that move an organization’s goal forward. It focuses on staffing, such as recruiting and selecting, training employees, performance evaluation, motivation and complying human resource policy and procedures effectively. Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Management (B.B.A in EEM)
This program is designed to help students learn entrepreneurship and enterprise management is a rapidly developing and changing business field in which business and nonprofit leaders design, grow, and lead mission-driven enterprises. As the traditional lines blur between nonprofit enterprises, government, and business, it is critical that business students understand the opportunities and challenges in this new landscape. The course will introduce to students the field of entrepreneurship and enterprise management, the players and business structures used by entrepreneurs, and the mechanics, tensions, and realities of starting and/or managing an enterprise.
Associate of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Management (A.B.A in EEM)
This program is designed to help students learn entrepreneurship and enterprise management skills and practices the field of entrepreneurship and enterprise management, the players and business structures used by entrepreneurs in a rapidly developing and changing business field in which business and nonprofit leaders design, grow, and lead mission-driven enterprises, it is critical that business students understand the opportunities and challenges in business environment. The program will introduce to students the field of entrepreneurship and enterprise management, the players and business structures used by entrepreneurs, and starting and/or managing an enterprise.
Master Programs:
Master of Business Administration in Management
The program is designed to offer students to develop business knowledge and practical skills to help graduates advance their careers in today’s competitive local, regional and global markets. It also provides students to gain a broad understanding of contemporary management skills and develop solutions to complex business situation as well as students enhance their professional expertise by completing practical assessment activities in leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.
Master of Business Administration in Accounting
Master of Business Administration in Accounting program is designed to offer advanced professional skills of accounting and to convey relevant financial and non-financial information so that decision makers can take decisions and utilize technology to facilitate and enhance accounting and finance reporting processes as well as it provides appropriate managerial and business issues critical to analyzing accounting data and other information used for identifying and assessing opportunities and risk, developing organizational plans and allocating fund. Moreover, it employs national, international and historical perspectives to analyze accounting and business issues as well as identifying ethical issues associated with accounting and business situations. Students can apply appropriate principles of ethics and civic responsibility by using analytical and research tools to monitor evolving accounting standards and practices and maintain professional skills in a changing business environment.
Master of Business Administration in Finance
Master of Business Administration in Finance program is designed to provide students to understand the role of financial management in business firms and essentials of corporate finance. Students can apply valuation models to estimate the price of financial assets, measure risk and describe the risk-return tradeoff as expressed by the Capital Assets Pricing Model as well as focus on financial markets and institutions and their roles in businesses. Moreover, the program provides an understanding of international financial management and risks involved in local and global businesses.
Master of Business Administration in Marketing (MBA in MKT)
This program is designed to help students understand marketing and its environment. It is also designed to introduce student full range of activities performed by a marketing-oriented managers. This program has a strong focus on industry demands and marketing in local, regional and global contexts. Students will develop the ability to identify and analyze marketing challenges. The program also develops the ability of the students to progress in their marketing career to higher-level and decision-making. They will build knowledge by expanding their understanding on marketing communications, public relations, marketing research, consumer behavior and marketing intelligence and analytics with a focus on digital marketing.
Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Family Business Management
This program is designed to enhance the ability of students to understand the roles of entrepreneurs, managers, members of family business, professionals involved in family business, and policy makers. It is also designed for the recent university graduates who wish to acquire knowledge on Family Business Management. The program covers the basic concepts related to the management and administration of family business as well as different process and tools that are useful for the effective handling of the companies taking into account the academic and socio-economic status in the country. It also focuses on research that requires the students to write research project or thesis on different issues on family business management. The program enhances the ability of the students to do research and develops skills in enterprise management and leadership.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Professional Degree (Associate and Bachelor)
- The applicant for Associate program and Bachelor program must have high school diploma or equivalent degree or a certificate certifying that he/she has not passed the high school examination.
- Must pass entrance exam controlled by MoYES and BBU’s committee
Academic Degree (Bachelor)
- The applicant for Bachelor program must have high school diploma or equivalent degree from a duly recognized school.
- Must pass entrance exam controlled by MoYES and BBU’s committee
Master Degree
- The applicant for Master program must have a bachelor degree in respective discipline or related area in which he/she is interested to pursue the study from a recognized institute.
HOW TO APPLY
Build Bright University receives walk-in application from the applicant or his/her relatives/friends at any of the campuses of the university, and new students can register in the programs during the promotion time-period of the university. The prospective students must:
- Have transcript from any school/university/institution which is recognized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.
- Filledin admission form, specifying the program, faculty, major, etc. with signature and three copies of 4 *6 cm. photographs.
- Submit the application form and documents for admission along with payment of requisite tuition fee.

Description
The MBA program at Build Bright University ample opportunity to those who have the potential to lead both national and global enterprises. Besides offering learning opportunity on several critical business functional areas, the program also strengthens the ability of the participants to think strategically and align projects and procedures with, business strategy, lead, motivate and manage teams, use up-to-date information to enable business solutions and solve problems creatively using entrepreneurial insight.
Program Objectives
To enhance the ability of the students to recall, understand, and present information including knowledge of specific facts, concepts, principles, theories, and procedures in the business core courses and specialization courses.
To enhance the ability of a professional qualification involving the study of a specific core major course plus research and required the students to complete of research paper/a minor thesis as part of the course and to apply understanding of concepts, principles, theories, and procedures in the business core courses and specialization courses in critical thinking and creative problem solving, both when asked to do so and when faced with unanticipated new situations.
To enhance the ability of the students to research and develop skills in organizational leadership and create a pathway to a Ph.D. with the Master of Business Research and to take responsibility for their own learning, continuing personal and professional development, work effectively in group and exercise leadership when appropriate, act responsively in personal and professional relationship, and act ethically and consistently with high moral standard in personal and public forums.
Admission Requirements
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management, Accounting, Finance, and Marketing program requires a minimum of two years study. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or hold a bachelor’s degree in an unrelated subject and have relevant professional experience.
Enrollment Procedure
The students have to submit their completed application forms along with necessary documents including photographs to the Registration Office of the university.
They have to make necessary payment of fees for admission and undertake the entrance examination as stipulated by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport from time to time.

Teaching Methodology
Depending on the nature and requirement of the specific course, in general, the following methods are adopted in teaching and learning that are focused on the learning outcomes of students.
Lecture-cum-discussion method

Case reading, analysis and presentation
Group and individual problem solving, exercises and quizzes
Methods adopted for each specified course in the master program are focused on student centered approach.
Program Structure
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is of two years duration with four semesters and 45 credits in total. Students have the two options to study, i.e., (1) Coursework plus Research and (2) Research. All the students are required to complete 33 credits of courseworks consisting of 11 Core Common Courses in the first three semesters of the program. In the fourth semester, the students can select either Management, Accounting, Finance or Marketing as their major (specialization). Students option Coursework plus Research have to study two Core Major Courses (6 credits) and write a Research Project (6 credits) in the fourth semester besides the study of 11 Core Common Courses. But the students having Research option have to write a Master Thesis, which consists of 12 credits, the fourth semester along with the study of 11 Core Common Courses.

Program Description
The Master of Sciences (M.Sc.) in Family Business Management is designed to enhance the ability of students to understand entrepreneurs, managers, members of family businesses, professionals involved in family business, and policy makers. It is also designed to aim at recent University graduates who wish to acquire knowledge on Family Business Management. Moreover, the FAB Master’s program covers the basic concepts related to the management and administration of family businesses, as well as the different processes and tools that are useful for the effective handling of these companies taking into account the academic and socio-economic status in the country. It also focuses on research and typically required the students to do a thesis paper and to recall, understand, and present information including knowledge of family business, specific facts, concepts, principles, theories, and procedures in the family business courses and enhance the ability of the students to research, and to develop skills in enterprise management and leadership.
Program Objectives
To provide students with a framework for learning and understanding the nature, importance, and uniqueness of family business
To understand the balance between the family, ownership and business aspects within the enterprise
To understand the family firm of the importance of planning business transfers early
To focus on the attracting and retaining a skilled workforce
To understand the challenges are primarily the result of issues created by the interaction and overlap of family, management, and ownership—particularly where owning families wish to perpetuate their influence and/or control from generation to generation.

Requirements for Graduation

Final Examination
Students in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) program by Coursework plus Research are required to take the final examination on two core major courses at the end of the final semester. Along with the final examination, students are required to write a Research Project (6 credits) in their major (specialization) area as per the separate guidelines of the faculty under the guidance of a supervisor.
Evaluation Procedure
The following methods of assessment shall be followed to focus on the learning outcomes of the students.
Ongoing Assessment - 65%
Class Assignment for coursework- 40% (Group and Individual): quizzes, discussion and presentation, case analysis and presentation, exercise and problem solving, but for coursework plus research: (research proposal development and defense, conducting research and publication, research paper preparation and pre-defense and research paper completion and final defense) and by Research (research proposal development and defense, publication of article, thesis preparation and pre-defense and thesis completion and final defense)
Home Assignment (individual assignment, conducting research, publication of article) - 25% (Individual)
Final Assessment (examination/Research paper defense/ Thesis defense) - 35% (Individual):
Semester paper/ Major assignment (based on research on a specific assigned topic)/ examination.
A student is required to earn a minimum of 50% score in each category – ongoing assessment and final assessment. However, in total a minimum of 65% score is required to qualify in the course.
In case a student secured more than 50% score in both the categories, but did not qualify in the course (less than 65%), he/she shall be required to appear the supplementary examination on that course with necessary payment of fee for the examination.
In case a student secured less than 50% score in any category, he/she shall be required to pursue the course again by making necessary payment of course fee.

Separate guidelines are followed for the evaluation of Research Project and Master Thesis. Based on the above grading system, score of a student for the research works is decided by the research committee formed by the faculty for evaluation.
Grade Point Average (GPA)
Credit Hour (CH) is the amount of work represented in learning outcomes and verified by evidence of student achievement of grade A, B+, B, C+, C, D, E and F: one hour of lecture and a minimum two hours of on-going work/out-of-class student work each week for approximately of fifteen weeks for one semester hours of credit. The on-going work/out-of-class student work includes workshops, seminars, laboratory work, practicum, studio work, field work, presentation, group discussion, quizzes, exams, study visits, and other academic work leading to the award of credit hours.
One credit hour (CH) is equivalent to at least 15 hours of work presented in student learning outcomes and each course involves at least 3 credit hours (CH) or is equivalent to 45 hours for the entire program.
Grade Points Value (GP) is the conversion of letter grade to numerical grade representing the percentage of marks received.
Grade Points Earned = GP x CH
Total Grade Points Average (GPA) is the average of total grade points earned, where, GPA = Credit Transfer
A maximum of 15 credits will be allowed to a student coming from other universities/institutions to enroll in the master program irrespective of credits earned by him/her previously in the same program. The maximum 15 credits will be given considering the courses taken and completed by the student similar to the courses offered in the master program. The Dean of the faculty will examine the candidature and get the approval from the Senior Vice President, Academic Affairs and before admitting the student in the program.
