The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Languages (FAHL) is one of the established faculties for undergraduate and graduate studies at Build Bright University (BBU) offering Associate, Bachelor and Master degrees in the field of English language. The mission of the Faculty is to enhance the capacity building of human resources through its various programs in English language teaching. The faculty has experienced and committed staff to help students attain their academic and professional goals. Teaching is innovative, challenging and highly enjoyable and will be delivered within the Faculty’s research-led and highly interdisciplinary environment to enhance students’ competencies in their major field of study.

About the Programs
The Bachelor of Arts in English program is meant for students interested in literature and language, in writing and reading, in texts of all types and how they influence and reflect the country. The program is also an excellent choice for those interested in obtaining a firm foundation for graduate study in programs as wide-ranging as business, law, communications and cultural studies, and, of course, English and creative writing.
Bachelor of Arts in Teaching English as a Foreign Language
The program is meant for students who want to demonstrate competence in teaching English as a foreign language either abroad or domestically; demonstrate comprehension of linguistics, grammar, intercultural communication, language learning theory, and teaching methodology; demonstrate the ability to think, read, and write critically, especially on issues related to language, learning, and teaching; demonstrate an awareness of and appreciation for the diversities among people around the world; and engage in and articulate a personal integration of faith and learning.
Associate of English
This program is one in which students are prepared in the fields of literature and critical thinking. Typical programs include general education courses, basic major courses and core major courses. Typical classes include reading and writing of English, art of listening and speaking, and presentation skills.
Bachelor of English
Bachelor of English program is a good foundation for students interested for a professional degree. The program offers several courses, such as English literature, linguistics, teaching method, creative writing, art of listening and speaking and second language acquisition. The program’s interdisciplinary focus fosters the development of broadly educated individuals who are able to apply their knowledge and skills creatively and flexibly in a broad range of situations and prepares them for a wide range of careers, or for further study at master level.
Master of English
The program is specifically designed for teachers of English in Cambodia who have a desire to engage themselves in the teaching of English as a foreign language. It also offers both practical and theoretical work across the main areas of English language teaching. Students have the opportunities for more in-depth study of topics such as second language acquisition, and the teaching of grammar.
Admission Requirements
- The applicant for Associate program and Bachelor program must have high school diploma or equivalent degree or a certificate certifying that he/she has not passed the high school examination.
- Must pass entrance exam controlled by MoYES and BBU’s committee.
Academic Degree
- The applicant for Bachelor program must have high school diploma or equivalent degree from a duly recognized school.
- Must pass entrance exam controlled by MoYES and BBU’s committee.
Master Degree
- The applicant for Master program must have a bachelor degree in respective discipline or related area in which he/she is interested to pursue the study from a recognized institute.
How to Apply
Build Bright University receives walk-in application from the applicant or his/her relatives/friends at any of the campuses of the university, and new students can register in the programs during the promotion time-period of the university. The prospective students must:
- Have transcript from any school/university/institution which is recognized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.
- Filled-in admission form, specifying the program, faculty, major, etc. with signature and three copies of 4 *6 cm. photographs.
- Submit the application form and documents for admission along with payment of requisite tuition fee.
